Thomas William Knight

Thomas William Knight, known affectionately as Tom, passed away peacefully at his home in Brownsville on September 4, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on June 4, 1958, in Leitchfield, Tom was the cherished son of the late William Dale and Betty Jeanine Paine Knight.

Tom dedicated much of his life to serving his country, first in the United States Air Force and later with the United States National Guard. His commitment to his country was matched only by his passions in life. He had a love for the outdoors, often found enjoying days of fishing and hunting. He also had a keen interest in collecting guns and was known for his eclectic taste in music, which he enjoyed in the comfort of his own home.

Tom is survived by his two devoted sisters, Teresa Cash and Linda Martin (Ronnie). They, along with his beloved nephew, Nik Cash, and niece, Kallie Martin, carry on his memory and the warmth he brought into their lives. He was predeceased by his parents, but his spirit and legacy will continue through the hearts of those who knew him.

Friends and family will gather to honor Tom's life in a funeral service scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Caneyville Funeral Home. Bro. Derrick Benton will officiate the service, reflecting on Tom's life and the many ways he touched those around him. Prior to the service, visitors are invited to join the family from 10:30 AM until the ceremony begins, sharing stories and memories that celebrate the joy Tom brought to so many.

Following the service, Tom will be laid to rest in Slate Bank Cemetery, where his family can visit him in quiet reflection.
